This tap was commissioned by the Queen of England, Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in 1954 and holds the distinction of being the first public tap in Lagos. The tap provided running water for the many families that lived in Isale Eko.

The former Chairman, Lagos Island Local Government Area and Commissioner of Sports, Prince Ademola Adeniji Adele, recently renovated the tap. It can still be seen in Isale Eko today.
